Shifts and overtime

Optional. Late marks and overtime pay.

What it is for

Shifts tell the system when a person should work. With them on you get late and early-exit marks, and optional overtime pay.

Turning it on

  1. AdminIn Settings > Attendance choose a preset: Office, Factory or Field. Shifts are created for you.
  2. AdminAssign a shift on an employee's form. If you do not, the default shift applies.

Late and early marks are advisory. They never change Present or Absent status or pay.

How overtime goes

  1. AdminSwitch on overtime in Settings > Overtime.
  2. EmployeeWorks beyond the shift, or on a weekly off or holiday, then checks out.
  3. SystemCreates an overtime entry for the extra hours (after your ignore-below and rounding rules).
  4. AdminApproves it in Attendance > Overtime, or let it auto-approve. Managers can see the list.
  5. SystemPayroll pays approved overtime on top of base pay, at 2x by default. It is left out of EPF and ESIC.
