Payroll settings
Days basis, CTC or gross, ESIC and gratuity.
Where
Settings > Payroll. Set these once; payroll follows them.
Payslip days basis
- Days present (default): pay follows days present plus paid leave.
- Month minus leaves: monthly staff are paid for every calendar day, and only loss-of-pay days come off.
When employees see payslips
By default, as soon as payroll is finalized. Choose 'When I publish them' to hold finalized payslips and release the whole month at once. Drafts are never shown to employees. You can still correct a finalized payslip; every change needs a reason and is logged.
CTC or annual gross
With CTC, employer PF, ESIC and gratuity come out of the figure you enter. With annual gross, employer contributions are added on top. Switching keeps gross pay the same.
ESIC
Eligibility is judged on the monthly contract wage against the ceiling (default 21,000). The contribution is 0.75% of the wage earned that month, overtime excluded.
Gratuity
Can be turned off. It is then left out of the CTC breakup, the forms and the payslip.
